Origins of Email – How did it evolve?

Fast forward to the 1970s, when the first true email system was born.

Ray Tomlinson, a brilliant computer programmer, is credited with inventing the modern email by introducing the use of the “@” symbol to separate the recipient’s name from the name of their host computer. This groundbreaking innovation allowed messages to be sent across different networks, paving the way for the global exchange of information.

The advent of personal computers in the 1980s led to a surge in email usage, making it accessible to more and more people around the world.
